If I may ask...I live in Az, I understand saving by not paying sales tax, how will it offset the annual registration?

 

I believe the reference was made meaning...one might rationalize the tremendous and arguably outrageous registration fee by putting the tax saved aside to pay for the annual registration, e.g. VLT, which as you know is based on the value of the car. Having lived in CHI, DEN, PHX, HOU and now SEA, I can attest to the craziness. While living in PHX I purchased a 911 turbo. I then moved to HOU. My registration renewal went from ~$2k to ~$100. LOL... This is why you see so many RV and misc vehicles registered to MT.
