Just to be clear. You took deposit but returned it because the potential buyer changed his mind? I'm interested but don't want to pursue it if you still have his deposit. Been there done that before -- too much aggravation!
Please clarify.

I received a deposit and send out the contract. The payment was due on Friday. No payment and no signed contract was received. All I got was promises that the wire is coming. I followed up twice on Friday and since then have not heard from the buyer.

never take deposit
as an Ex-banker, a wire takes 20 min to initiate, if you are dumb and slow. i am dumb and slow and takes me < 10 min.
once money is wired (if you wire before 1pm) you can request a fed wire #, that # means the wire is out of sender's account and en route to to the receiver. if he cannot provide the fed wire #, he has NOT sent the money out yet. if your banker cant provide that number or no clue what it is, you need a new bank.
if the wire is sent prior to 1pm PST, receiver will get the money same day.
i am a believer that whose money hits me first, gets the goods.
that's just me.
solves a lot of BS

That's Rennlist. Everyone complains they can't get the car or that the dealer markup is ridiculous. Then a reasonably priced car appears and all of a sudden nothing but tire kickers. That's why I prefer to sell my cars back to the dealer. Yes they pay a little less, but they pay fast and I get tax credit.
