Near perfect car, in fact it was a one owner car before I bought it! That's right, I'm only the second owner!
The list of maintenance items is very extensive, but I'll list the main stuff. The car has always been maintained very well. It also never sat for much longer than a few months without being driven to my knowledge. It was also re-sprayed in it's original color at some point.
Clean title, clean Carfax. Overall a great car.
Paint is about 9/10
Interior is a 8/10
Mechanically its an easy 10/10
Original Tweed interior!
List of item's that come with the car:
- Spare dash/ gauge cluster
- Spare Center console
- Full set of immaculate cookie cutter wheels
- Koni Yellow's for the front (need rebuilding)
- Original owners' manual with maintenance paper work
- Detailed list of maintenance and improvements since I've owned the car
Upgrades:
- Adjustable Koni Shocks in the front
- 225 lb front springs, slightly lowered (about 1 inch or so)
- Authentic Fuch's
- K&N Filter Element
- Main muffler delete: Still has small rear muffler
- Motor rebuilt at 142000 on the odo
- Transaxle rebuilt, and clutch replaced at the same time
- Motor and transaxle were rebuilt by HESCO in Birmingham, AL 50k miles ago at 142k miles.
Maintenance Prior to Dec. 2015:
- Air Filter (K&N)
- Spark Plugs
- Plug Wires
- Distributor replaced
Maintenance: Dec. 2015 (Odo: 188000)
- Timing belt service
- Crank seal replaced
- Water Pump replaced
- Radiator hoses replaced
- rear shocks replaced
- Alignment
Maintenance March 2016 (Odo 189750)
- DME replaced
- Transaxle oil change
Maintenance June 2016 (ODO 190500)
- DME Relay Replaced
- Speed and reference sensors replaced
Maintenance June 2017 (ODO 192137)
- Front ball joints replaced
- brake pads
- installed new Koni shocks
- replaced wheel bearings, all four corners
- repaired hatch latch
- car lowered and aligned
- Oil Changed
Don't miss this opportunity! It's advertised locally for $5750, but the Rennlist special is only $5500!
If you're looking for a cheap project car, this is not for you. This is for someone looking for a car that could be brought back to 100% with some interior work, and minor body work.
This is a daily drive-able classic (ask me how I know), and the best early 944 I've seen for sale in a while!
