Up for sale is a beautiful example of a 986 Boxster and the first year of the S model. With just 44,595 miles this roadster has led a pampered life, averaging just 2,600 miles per year. The 3.2 liter flat six engine produces 250 horsepower, good for a 5.9 second 0-60 time according to magazine tests of the day.

2000 was considered a milestone year for the Boxster as the engine was slightly redesigned and the casting process was improved to alleviate engine failures and cracked cylinders that were common in pre-2000 models. Additionally the intermediate shaft bearing on this engine has already been upgraded. For those not familiar with Porsche engines of this vintage, the factory ball bearings supporting the intermediate shaft were woefully inadequate causing some catastrophic engine failures. This engine was retrofitted with the popular IMS bearing upgrade at just 20,000 miles to prevent any issues.

Combined with a slick six speed manual, this convertible is full of pure driving pleasure. This is one of many Porsche's in our family.
