Love the light bar on that beast! No one makes a bolt on light bar for my lowly 1500 otherwise I would have picked one up right when I bought it.

Like I said, the "stuff" on the bumper - winch, shackles visionx lightbar, etc. unnecessary if you are not offroad in the dark at times. But the fitament of the AEV bumper was better and more stock looking than anything else I came across. Same with their wheels, etc. I built my 3500 for my lifestyle - sometimes tow, sometimes offroad/ranch, sometimes daily driver commute. I love the truck. I have more money in it than I would ever get out of it. Be careful. $100k truck is much closer than you think. If I could do it all over again, my must-have upgrades would be:

AEV bumper (if doing aftermarket)
Upgrade to 4.10 gears (Yukon or AAM)
AMP power steps and bed step
Titan aux fuel
Upgrade headlights to LED
Better suspension/airbag system
Hardwire radar detector
Smallest wheel/largest tire combo that will still afford heavy towing weight ratings. At least my truck shipped with 20 inch wheels and 80psi tires with very little sidewall. Not needed and really uncomfortable. You can be at high D or E load rated capability without the huge wheel /tiny tire setup.

That's my must have list.

Personally, I wouldn't delete or touch the engine/tranny/etc. 900 ft lbs is all you need. To the must-have list, I added a bunch of goodies that fit my needs. Including TruckVault drawers for our hunting rifles/ammo/feed/rotopax, etc., and a cargo slide to load motorbikes, etc.

I just returned from a 1500 mile round trip tow including 96 degree weather! Tranny temp never above 163! Wow. Admittedly I was only towing about 4000 pounds. The towing experience was simply fantastic. I have to say the automatic exhaust brake in my new truck is amazing. I couldn't be happier. New gooseneck arrives next week. That will put the truck to a real test.

Glad you love it, Dave - modern day trucks are a marvel when towing.
