Default Tips for finding Crossmembers in ATC/Intech walls?

I want to mount an air hose reel and a 50" LCD, but wanted to measure twice and drill once....

I believe they are spaced 16".

Cheaper alternative than a phone app.

Press gently on the walls and feel for where they are less bendy, or tap along the walls and listen for the least hollow space, or look at the spots where the interior panels meet (not always reliable).
Then test drill in an inconspicuous spot with a small bit.
Not easy to find just the right spot and the c studs are pretty narrow but eventually you will find it.
I'm told trailers are not reliably 16" on center 😩

Exactly this. You can get a feel for where they are by seeing where other stuff is already in place (door frame, e-track if installed, etc)

Hey monochrome, where did you get that carpet? That's exactly what I need in front of my cabinets.

Actually just picked up this trailer from a friend and the mat was there already. Sorry, don't know the brand. I'll check it out next time I'm in the trailer

Are you the original owner of the trailer? If you ordered the trailer, there is a customer portal at InTech's website that will show construction photos.

Never mind. I bought the Mud Master carpet from ULINE.com. It's perfect!

An experiment this weekend in Texas RS's ATC 305 - we used my Milwaukee sub-scanner, and it worked great. Pinpointed exactly where studs edges and center were.

But, the simple way is as recommended by everyone above, you can bang on the wall and feel exactly where the studs are in most cases.

yeah, I pushed on mine and easily figured it out by the contour I got on either side.

Default To simple...

I have an ATC 20' Trailer. Incredible box on wheels. So well made. But not cheap...the value provided make it worth it.

Just look at the vertical line of bolt connectors on the interior wall. That will tell you where the studs are. Measure them, and I believe you confirm 16"
