Please have a discussion with them after researching tires here.

Despite the fact you may be hauling a somewhat "lighter" load, keep in mind the fact that you will be hauling at 75mph during the hot summer.

"Good enough" does not cut it with trailer tires. Get two spares mounted up and attached to your trailer also.

My double axle 24' uses 15" tires.

You need to KNOW what load range ST tires they will be supplying and the psi rating for the wheels they want to send with them. Tire make rand would be a help also.

After all this, please do the most important thing right...

Interesting. And they will mount and run normally on regular light truck wheels?

Yes, 6 lug trailer or truck wheels - my friend went to 16" wheels because
he said they don't make a 15" tire in this model
- Bridgestone Duravis M700 ( I think...)
- E Rated 80PSI

The tires on my new TPD will be Good Year Marathon ST225/75R15 Load Range D.

I was recently told that I should consider Load Range E tires, still looking into what needs to change. Currently using Marathon ST225/75R15 Load Range D on my 20' TPD. I'm calling Justin at TPD to find out more

tow at 75mph in ca, you will NEVER get to track. speed limit 55. if you do 65, ok, more than that, you get pulled over.

std 15" is the ubiquitous good year marathon, or you can be like me run G series ;-)

Marathon tires are pretty poor. I use E rated Maxxis. I change them every 3-4 years to be safe and have 2 spares. 24 ft ace @ 10k lbs.

Things Start To Get Real

Two of my friends recently took delivery of their custom-built TPD trailers. It's been awesome to follow their progress as they've been sharing photos of their builds along the way. Well, yesterday things finally started to get real for me. TPD informed me that my official completion date is March 15th. They haven't yet sent any photos of the trailer itself in progress, bust they did send me a photo of the Catalina aluminum gas cylinder topped off with the Smith regulator.

My build is kind of unique in that I'm having TPD source very nearly the entire contents of the trailer. From the Honda EU3000 is generator to the Mac's tie-down straps and everything in between. I'll just need to arrive at TPDs facility with the truck and the race car, load up and continue north on I-5 to Thunderhill!

To date, they've received everything with the exception of:

Honda EU3000 is generator
Arrow Components 24" door cabinet
Arrow Components 18" strap hangers
Pit Pal tire gauge holder
Kennedy 6 drawer cabinet

These few remaining items are all on-order and due to arrive within the next 2 weeks. Needless to say, the anticipation is killing me!

I went to visit the "bowling alley" today - i.e.: the new Mooty/Garcias trailer. Chasen was kind enough to smile for the camera...

Floor Jack Hanger Brackets

I have an old floor jack, dating back to when I started tracking in the late nineties. It's a lightweight aluminum racing jack. I believe it's a clone of the Brunnhoelzl jack.

Attachment 704611

At any rate, it has served me well and is still going strong. I designed a set of custom brackets to hang it off a wall inside the trailer. I got the idea from a fellow trackrat...

Attachment 704446

Here is my interpretation of his effort. You can see that I added my own twist...

Attachment 704442

Like the original, the jack is hung from a hook on the upper bracket, the hook catching the front wheel of the jack. The bottom bracket is simply there to keep the rear wheels from bashing the trailer wall.

Both brackets have small flanges to provide a place to secure the jack handle. The lower bracket also has a couple of holes in order to use a bungee strap to secure the jack tight against the wall.

Here are the actual parts, fresh from the fabricator. I've added some rubber grommets to keep the jack handle from rattling.

Another happy RL'er picking up his 38'er at TPD today...

Attachment 704450

Jeez... these guys are making me feel so inadequate. :to_order: I've just got a TAG, not a manly gooseneck. And even worse, mine is a wimpy 24'er. :banghead:
