A while back I added tie-downs to my car. I finally got around to adding D-rings in the trailer for the rear of the car. The reason I did this is so that I can roll my large two-shelf tire cart up onto the trailer without running over the straps for the car. As you can see in the photos, the new D-ring locations are further inboard and much closer together. I am now using fixed length straps on the rear of the car. These are the shortest length Macs sells. At the front, I'm now using the tie-down points in conjunction with longer ratchet straps. This is the technique Trakcar suggested in an earlier posting (post #522). It works like a charm, but I might install new D-rings up front as well in order to further optimize the placement. I'd like the D-rings here to be closer together and a bit further away from the car. As it is now, I have to be careful when I open the ratchet to loosen the straps, as the mechanism is too close to the spitter.
