A while back I added tie-downs to my car. I finally got around to adding D-rings in the trailer for the rear of the car. The reason I did this is so that I can roll my large two-shelf tire cart up onto the trailer without running over the straps for the car. As you can see in the photos, the new D-ring locations are further inboard and much closer together. I am now using fixed length straps on the rear of the car. These are the shortest length Macs sells. At the front, I'm now using the tie-down points in conjunction with longer ratchet straps. This is the technique Trakcar suggested in an earlier posting (post #522). It works like a charm, but I might install new D-rings up front as well in order to further optimize the placement. I'd like the D-rings here to be closer together and a bit further away from the car. As it is now, I have to be careful when I open the ratchet to loosen the straps, as the mechanism is too close to the spitter.

The results are very noticeable. An added benefit is that it's now a bit quieter inside as well. The next step is to decide if I want to skin the ceiling in some sort of material. I could just use sheet vinyl or a thin plastic, or even formica. I'd like to have it bright white like it was originally.

I just added the Senna quote yesterday.
Also replaced my battery and installed a new electric jack. Lost the cap to the jack which let in rain water and it was getting a little wonky.
All done just in time for the last event of the year and then it gets buttoned up for the winter and becomes a place to smoke a stogie which I stare at my car.

I've never seen that type of gas can before. Are they 5 gallon cans? Why buy those if you can refill a plastic jug? Please educate me!
I keep doubling down on the Martini theme (always buying Martini t-shirts and just got a new - my second one - Stand21 Martini suit). I keep threatening to add Martini stripes on the sides of my trailer. The factory puts a horizontal stripe (actually two thin lines about 10cm apart) down the sides. I thought the Martini stripes would be a nice upgrade!

Yeah, I'm a little crazy on the Martini stuff. Race car, DE car, tow vehicle and trailer are all liveried as Martini.

Also wanted to ask, do you have any tension issues with ratchets up front + non-ratchets in the rear? I run ratchets on all four corners, but your method would cut loading time in half.

Those are 5 gal. Sunoco 104 race fuel cans. I went to the Thompson, CT track a couple of years ago and they didn't have a gas pump at the time. The fuel stays good in the cans so I usually pour it into a fuel jug at the track which makes it easier to get into the car. I still have a couple of cans sitting in my shed. Need to burn them up before the gas gets old.

I did something similar! Plug and play battery charging (the CTEK in mine is hardwired to the battery terminals, so the main 12V switch can be either on or off during charging).
