I remember reading about this, but I can't find the post after repeated searches (obviously for the wrong thing)
Someone mounted a wireless rear view camera on the top of their trailer. I am curious to see how it was done, cost etc..
Towing with a Cayenne, I don't like the elephant ear attachments.
Who was it who did this?

I have no experience with them but eTrailer sells a bunch of different models. It looks like a lot of the "back up" cameras can also be used to monitor

We’ve had this vueSMART camera on the back of our enclosed trailer for a few years. Works great. Really handy when backing into your paddock spot. We have a 28’ trailer and 31’ RV and the Wi-Fi extends all the way to the driver’s area. Controlled via an app on your phone. You can also turn the lights on and off.

Lots of options. I use this one which replaced one of the top marker lights on my Trailex enclosed.

Yes, it gets power from the wiring that powers the marker light when the lights are on. I plug the display unit into a lighter power socket in my truck. This type of camera is popular in RV's so there are lots of options out there. It works fine even at speed on the highway though that is only for entertainment purposes so my passenger(s) can see some of the stupid things drivers do around trailers!
Good luck.
Good luck.

His videos are a hoot. Which one did you get? Are you running the V3?

OP, you may want to consider a system that allows you to add additional cameras. If it turns out that you are pleased with back-up camera performance, then you will wish that you could also watch inside the trailer while going down the road, etc.

I bought the Tadi Brothers wireless system. It's OK, but I'd recommend either their wired system or a better quality wireless like tgsmith suggested. The Tadi wireless frequently loses signal or freezes, usually at the most inopportune times, like preparing to change lanes...

Very disappointed in the Tadi wireless system and their service. After spending a good deal of time on the phone questioning the link and whether the system would work I was assured it would. it is marginal at best when backing up and useless on the road. The signal drops and freezes when moving slow, At speed it is useless. This is on a 32' tag. Suppose it might work on a 24'.

The resolution on this camera is quite low compared to others. Is the screen sharp enough?
