Has anyone weighed the trailer? I'm super curious how heavy these are compared to a Futura, the new Trailex has gone up a fair amount in weight now (like 200lbs or so). Looking at the web site it seems like the 718 is 1640lbs while a Futura is 1313lbs according to their literature. (for the Super Sport), the trailex CT-8055 (which is a bit shorter at 14' 8 bed) is 1220 lbs.
This is without the tyre racks etc... For those of us that run into 5K weight limits this can make a big difference.

I am taking a close look at the Timpte 720 and Futura Pro Sport. My main concern is USABLE Deck Height / Width while in loading mode.
Could someone please share two measurements from a Timpte 720 and/or Futura Pro Sport 20’ trailer with loading deck on the ground for loading and the wheel well arms raised to their highest position as follows:
INSIDE DECK HEIGHT
From loading deck (where the tires sit) to the top/inside of the fully raised wheel wheel arms TO THE NEAREST 1/4”.
INSIDE DECK WIDTH
Between the top/inside of the fully raised wheel wheel well arms TO THE NEAREST 1/4”.
My goal is to better understand how close the fully raised wheel arms would come to the belt-line of my largest car right after the car is driven onto the deck.
Interested to hear what you guys measure…
Thanks a ton!

The limiting width for me is the width at the narrowest point at the ramp. The deck taper creates about a four inch tall side lip at the drive on point that is 78 inches in width between the vertical lips on the 718 and 720. On the 1020 it is 75 inches and too narrow for my 992 GT3 running -2.5 degrees of camber front and rear. So while there may be 81 inches of deck width measured between the swing arms (Timpte’s term for the structure that the fenders bolt to) on the 7 series trailers, you need to make sure that you can get it on the trailer.
The other lesson learned is whether your doors will clear the fenders with the trailer in the upright/flat position. I bought the removable fender kit so that I don’t have to climb in and out through the window

Thanks for the post and is very timely. This looks like what I need and have also been looking at Futura and Kwik Load trailers.
Anybody know if a 718 GT4 will load and have door clearance? Any thoughts on benefits of the 18’ or 20’ model aside from more ability to play with TW.
Is it worth adding E trac or other recommendations for tie down. Lot’s of track experience here but very little tow experience!
If anyone else cares to share their current market experience it would be appreciated…feeling like everyone these days are trying to hit homeruns on all transactions!

Made my decision. Going with the Gen 2 Timpte 718/720 that’s now been upgraded with a their tried and true farming technology hydraulic system. US-made and readily available. Futura has a big challenge ahead. Solid product innovation, but struggling to get shipments into the USA. Their key West Coast dealer, Complete Trailers, recently dropped them for lack of product availability.

We're considering becoming a dealer for Timpte and actually have a call with them here shortly. We try to offer a wide range of car trailers as we're car guys ourselves. Since some of you have had one for a bit now, what feedback would you offer?
