I was thinking of getting the Milenco Aero3 or Grand Aero 3 for my 2018 Cayenne. The Grand Aero seems to give a little more visibility for enclosed trailer.
I found the Milenco brand in Rennlist discussions from a few years ago.
Wondering what experience people have with these are if anyone has a better suggestion.
Only issues are they have some vibration, so they're not 100% clear. You can easily see if there's a vehicle in the space you're about to merge into, but you won't be reading peoples license plates. I don't see how this can be improved, as you have a mirror on a pole attached to a semi-rigid piece of plastic. Also with a 8ft-6in wide enclosed trailer you really can't see much behind you. I have them fully extended. They're useful for changing lanes, but it's pretty difficult to see anyone directly behind you.
Honestly, I'm probably going to get a wireless camera soon. It'll help me backup, which is a huge struggle solo, and give better situational awareness on the road.
I am used to towing with a heavy 2500 pickup with tow mirrors. I have good visibility to the corners of the trailer as well as what is on either side. So maybe I am a bit spoiled
Thank you all on this thread regarding towing mirrors. I recently purchased a 2016 Cayenne Turbo and plan to our 27' Airstream trailer which we have owned for several years.. Do you recommend the Milenco Aero 3 or the Grand Aero 3? Also, standard (convex) or flat option on the mirror? Any special pads or clips required? Thank you very much!
Get a WiFi camera on the back of the trailer. I have the Aero 3's which I use on my Q7. With the Camera - I really don't need them anymore. Camera install was a breeze. Powered it from the trailer lights that are always on and put a small spacer on the plastic housing to space out the light enough to run the wire so I didn't have to drill. Uses a 6" screen which suctions cups to the windshield next to the rearview. It's also awesome for backing up and parking the trailer.
