Default Taycan Turbo GT - production delays

Hi,

I recently was allocated a 2025 Taycan Turbo GT and it was suppose to complete production on July 1 and it’s now been delayed to August 16 - 6 weeks. However, this is the 3rd production delay, for a total of 3 months now.

I called my dealership and they have reached out to Porsche Canada, but my sales person suspects it’s a part supply shortage which would impact all Taycan orders.

Anyone else experiencing this?

thanks

Strike at BorgWarner (OEM turbochargers for Porsche.)

not sure if this is applicable as the Taycan is 100% electric?

Other than the turbocharger, what else is force feeding electrons?

My Taycan GT was in put in production like yours was (Stage 3) and I have received pictures showing the frame has been completed, with an expected completion time of July 1 (started June 1), however, it has now been updated to Aug 20 which is almost 3 months since it started Stage 3 production.

I emailed my sales manager again and he still hasn’t heard from Porsche Canada but he suspects it’s a carbon fibre part shortage.

Question

All according to plan, car in shipment already, delivery second half of August.
Have a dilemma now, picked up the new ED 1 S63 e Performance, I did not want to like it but I love this car more then any other AMG i have ever owned.
Have a 1k miles on it and truly enjoy the incredible combo of luxury and performance and now give it up?
Taycan Turbo GT is supposed to be a game changer, will I be sorry?

Yes, most certainly. I suggest unloading this nuisance Taycan to me. I will take care of it for the next five years.

Just picked up my GT and spent a few hours in it. I love this thing. Seems to work with my Tesla universal charger although it seems slow (9kw). Not sure if that’s normal.

what size breaker is it on? I’d wager a 50amp given that charge rate. If so, it’s normal. If you’re on a 60 amp breaker it’s should be ~11kw.
