Default CPO

I just recently picked up a 2020 Tacan Turbo (waiting for shipping and delivery). The car is still under original factory warranty for another 9 months, I have already started getting quotes from vendors on Rennlist who offers Fidelity.

The car was sold as CPO back in November 2022 and looks like this owner drove it for a year and traded it in with a non P dealer.

Will the CPO carry over to me?

Also since the car is still under original factory warranty, if the PO does carry over to me then does it mean the CPO will start after the original factory expires?

Only way to answer 100% is to provide vin to Porsche to get confirmation.

I did this a couple of years ago. I knew mine wasn't CPO but Porsche will be able to provide the CPO dates as well.

Here's the email.

Thank you for providing the VIN. The New Vehicle Warranty for the 2018 718 Boxster GTS ends July 29, 2022. If there is anything else I may assist you with, please feel free to reach out. Porsche says the CPO can transfer if you purchased through a Porsche dealer or private sale, then you call and assign the CPO over to you. Mine was a prior CPO but wouldn't transfer since I bought from Audi, even though it's within the VAG family.

Hopefully you fall into one of the first two categories.

that’s what I thought too but how would they know if the car was sold through private sale or dealer? Are they actively checking carfax?

Mine was the response over the phone with Porsche NA. Similar to how they require proof of ownership paperwork to set up your ID with a used car, I expect the same would apply to transferring CPO.

How about this one......

IF the "Used" Porsche is purchased from NON Porsche Dealer - but is still under the Original 4 year / 50,000 Warranty - Can the new owner get an Extended Factory Warranty directly through Porsche USA (Not necessarily a "CPO" Product - Merely an extended warranty - perhaps additional 2 - 3 years/80,000 ++ Miles - to add on to the Original 4 year/50,000 mile new car factory warranty)

Yes, absolutely. Porsche offers a variety of extended warranty plans and deductibles.
