My mobile charger plus went on by itself?
I keep my mobile charger plus plugged into the wall (220). I have kept it this way since new two years ago. I only connect it to my 2021 Taycan when a charge is needed.
Today I noticed that even though it was not connected to the car, it was fully lit up and on and warm to the touch. I have not used it in a week. It was NOT modified during the recall. I use a Hubbell 14-50 outlet.
Has anyone experienced this behavior?
Thanks

Same thing happened to me this evening. Car was charged this morning to 85%, then unplugged and drove to work. Tonight was locking the garage and noticed the charger was on (and warm). The power button on the charger wouldn’t turn it off. Unplugged for the night and will see if it resets itself tomorrow.
Ar and charger were new last November. First time the charger has done this.

Software update?

I declined the software update that defaults the charger to 20 amps. I have a Hubbell 14-50 outlet installed and according to Porsche the Hubbell outlet is robust enough to use at 40 amps for extended periods.
Apparently some of the cheaper 14-50 outlets cannot handle 40 amps for any extended periods….

see porsche "official" document for the hubble part numbers of the correcct socket for use with PMC+/PMCC running at full 40 amps (9.6 kW) - https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...22530-0001.pdf - don't take my word for it - take porsche's - page 2 of the Porsche document has the Hubble part numbers to instruct your electrician to install/replace…
PMC+ working fine - until it doesn't - the cheaper NEMA sockets are plastic and the nominal operating temperature of the Porsche Power Supply cable is at/near/above plastic melting points - or at least at a temp where the plastic will "soften" - have your plastic socket heat/cool/expand/contract enough times due to thermal stress from the the Porsche PMC+/PMCC EVSE and your socket could/well end up looking like this…
so it's not a theory - if you're using PMC+/PMCC and/or at a full 40 amps (9.6 kW) the hubble commerical/industrial grade socket is _REQUIRED_ - if you don't have a hubble and you're currently using a PMC+/PMCC turn it down to 32 amps or less - and get an electrician to swap your socket.
my $0.02
pic is from the thread linked above - not my socket

yeah this is a thing. i swapped a buddies socket for the hubbel, and it is amazing how much more substantial it is, in everything.

Torquing the screws properly is important. 6gauge is stiff wire and can loosen the screws as wire funds it’s set. Torque, bend wires to fit receptacle, torque screws again, complete receptacle fitment, torque again and complete.
this is most common failure
