I can't see going back to an ICE car for a daily outside of long road trips and for those I'll take one of my sports cars and back roads (or fly).

I literally think about range ZERO of the time.

Your perspective doesn't necessary work for the rest of North America

If you're charging at home (which you should if you own an EV of any kind) then range anxiety is only extant about 5% of the time (i.e., for roadtrips longer than 200 miles one way).

Didn't want to open a second thread but curious for those of you whom have the turbo models, what packages are a must? Thanks again.

agree with charging mostly at home.

real world performance of Taycan (at non granny speeds) is around 200 miles, in SoCal warm weather.

so you’re going more than 100 miles one way, you have to think about finding a charger, in order to get your Taycan back to its home charger.

of course I don’t drive that every day, but I do drive 200 + miles on many weekends.

per my response to Ipse, if you’re actually driving your Porsche sport sedan (not sitting in traffic, and not driving like a granny) the average real world range in warmer weather is approximately 200 miles.

So you have to think about charging to get home if going more than 100 miles one way (not 200 miles one way)

Socal is different from the rest of the county in that
1- warm weather year round which increases range
2- insane traffic which keeps your average speed low and significantly conserves range.
3- very densely populated and very environmentally focused, so many charging options within a few miles which reduces range anxiety.

All three of those criteria are very different in SoCal compared to driving a Taycan in the rest of North America.

I am sure this will be different for everyone. Mine were Mission E, sport package, premium package, and anything other then black leather. Also really wanted the power charge port.

doing it over again - which I plan to do for the .2 when it comes out

skip PDDC (car has low CG and is flat naturally)
skip PCCB's - 100% un-necessary on this car - 90% regenerative braking + lack of any high performance stamina make them un-necessary - you'll still have reduced brake dust, and they will never wear out.

keep: RWS, Powercharge Port Door, 400V/150 kW option, 14 way seats for massage feature, 2+1 rear seating for 40/20/40 split rear seat, all the tech packages, fancy roof for light control, roof rails, passenger display, bose, and what ever cosmetics you like/want/can-afford

Why the power charge post door? Thought I read it that impact air flow management. Is that incorrect?

the airlfow impact is inconsequential and it's one of life's little pleasures to just have the charge port door close after you unplug - in my mind the powered charge ports are not for opening- but rather "closing" - I've had them since my 2014 Model S P85D - and other EV's (Model 3/Y) - and frankly it's just "nice" to un plug - walk away and have have the chargeport cover doors just close…

there is some airflow difference, but frankly that level of impact is meaningless outside controlled wind tunnel conditions…the daily pleasure for me personally of simply unplugging and walking away to hang up the charging cord outweighs any potential impact real/imagined.

For me it's purely visual. Think it looks a lot better then the standard manual doors

I'd like the functionality without the wart.

Nah this is all bull****. But it’s a convenient rhetoric. Unless you’re living in the sticks, need real hauling, drive more than 200 miles a day regularly, you’ll be fine with an EV as a daily driver with home charging. But you’re entitled to your point of view. But maybe my friends all over the country (New York, Denver, Boulder, Florida, CT, Boston, Seattle, Dallas, Chicago) that own Taycan/EV are full of **** too?
