Default What kind of mpkWh are you seeing?

Since the Taycan reportedly delivers greater range than the EPA spec what kind of mpkWh are you getting at various ambient temperatures and speeds?

Thanks

From 2.8miles/kWh at single digit temperatures going the speed limit, to 3.9miles/kWh at an average 70F going 75.

Computer says 2.9 over 4800 miles. Seems like most charge cycles see 2.7 mi/kWh
typical SoCal weather.

3.9 is a big number at 75 mph. Is it an instantaneous number or is it weighted from some lower speed driving?

Thanks for pointing that out, the average was 57MPH.
I note in my log book the speed on the higher limit highways that are 57% of my 190 mile commute between homes each week, the rest are 39% lower limit highways and 4% back roads.

The reason I am asking about this is I was wondering how much benefit the Taycan is getting from the 2 speed gearbox at highway speeds in terms of efficiency.

How are you guys getting over 3 miles per KW? I do drive up and down some hills when I show homes which does use for power and I drive pretty fast.

It's your speed. You have posted that you drive pretty fast before. That kills your range. The mileage goes down with the square of the speed. EV's are different than gas cars that are a lot less efficient ie pissing away a lot of energy in wasted heat. With an EV every bit of energy counts.

Can't help it, the power is addicting and I love passing slow drivers.

Looking at trip data in the app, I typically get 2.7 to 2.9 miles per KWH. The car is a GTS with 21" summer tires, driving using a mix of mostly "normal" mode with some "sport" mode thrown in maybe 15% of the time.

I have put 2960 miles on my 2021 CT4 with 20-inch rims. Cumulative consumption reads 2.8 mi/kWh. Lowest consumption was 3.2 mi/kWh on a 64 mile trip averaging 42 MPH. I am running Michelin Cross Climate 2 tires. I like the Cross Climate 2s enough that I am putting a set on my Cayenne.

If i drive it super soft and flat at 70-75 it’s pretty easy to get over 3. But we live in hilly area, and well, the torque is too fun. The car is best and constant speeds under 60 or so.

Taycan is a pretty big car and heavier than similar teslas, so they will do a little better on eco.
