(obviously as long as it was purchased prior to the August 16th 2022 deadline)
I've been fighting for a week trying to convince them that I'm eligible for the credit, and they think not....
As others have mentioned, prolly time for a new CPA?

I've never had good luck with H&R. I have a reasonably aggressive CPA, with a bachelor's degree in accounting.

They are running the clock, billing by the hour, right? Wouldn't you do the same? Billable hours are billable hours.

UPDATE: finally concluded that (yes shocker...) my Taycan is eligible. I got my $7,500 credit. Hopefully over time it'll get easier with more people getting EV's.

Yes I know, but I meant generally speaking for EV owners. It's gonna take some time for all CPA's / financial institutions to get used to the rules. Hopefully quickly.

And then they will change the rules next year.

Our government at work.

With all the flaws, I will take our government over any other. Period.

I think he meant to qualify. I didn't think the new ones qualified either tbh. Also if you make more than like $350k I didn't think you qualifed?

what if you make over $350k but it’s all W2 income - so you don’t have deductions / business write offs? As in high paid government job… nothing is deductible… I think you do not qualify…..

I need to open a side business….

Default Taycan

I think the Taycan was eligible only until the middle of August ‘22 if you had a written contact with the dealer and Porsche to buy the car.

With a non-refundable deposit if you didn't pay for your car by August 16th.
