I have a 2020 base Taycan. My gearbox / differential makes noises. Before it shifts, around 80 km/h, it is quite loud. Does anyone have the same observation? Porsche says: „all good“ 🤨Thank you!
Yep. Had this problem with '21 RWD at ~800 miles from new. Porsche replaced the drive unit in 2022 but it still makes noise. The issue is first gear is noisy. Very upsetting.....
I have a CT4. I notice no shifting noise while at speed. When first starting off on occasions I can hear a mechanical shifting noise. But it's pretty subtle.

It's not shifting noise - gear noise at speed. Listen carefully after 50mph but you must be in first gear: sport or sport+. More noticeable with regen activated on off-throttle over 60mph. I say this because they all do it to some degree according to what Porsche tells my dealer. I have also heard the "it's normal" statement.
gearbox noise is noticeable in first gear from 55-75mph, increasing with speed. i really notice it when i am in sport plus. it sounds like this is "normal"

yes there is mechanical gear whine but it doesn’t sound unhealthy.
op was asking about noise being quite loud before shifting. I don’t notice this in mine and i drive in sport often.

It's not normal. There were at least 2 other cars making the terrible noise and mine was so bad both the manager and local PCNA rep were shocked. PCNA had them perform tests, fluid samples, etc., admitted there was a problem and advised to replace the unit.
Second gear is quiet.

u said your gearbox was replaced....but then also stated that 1st gear is still noisy...
Don't know it this is the same but I noticed what sounded like a continuous not particularly loud, high pitched whine when I test drove a base Taycan. It was my only but fairly big objection to the car.
16k miles on my RWD. First 10k miles, I experienced a loud gear shift from 50mph to 20mph. It has become very muted now - almost not detectable. Never experienced any upshift noise - ever.
I asked a friend, who is service manager at a large Porsche dealer in Germany, if there are other complaints. He said: zero.
By the way, the big SW update 2022 also affected the control box of the gear box (and made the gear change smoother). This I realized with mine.
Which is all the more reason why I'm pissed mine made noise and continues to make noise even after my drive unit replacement. SW update did not effect the operation of the shifting in my car.
