I think that buying a Tesla a month ago and then having Musk cut the price by 20% after taking delivery, (also enabling the Federal tax deferral) would be super aggravating. Along with all the other headwinds Tesla are facing, I’m not sure pissing off potential repeat customers like these new owners in the near future when there will be a myriad of more choices re: BEVs is sound business 101.

May get interesting as some states are considering making electric illegal by 2035 because they are heavy invested in oil/gas. Then all the cars will be worth a dollar. This country is screwed up as if I needed to say that.

ironic because Wyoming supplies much of the US coal for generating electricity. As Big Coal is (thankfully) being wound down, Wyoming is also building a lot of wind farms. You see a lot of them while driving along Interstate 80. A lot of solar potential there too.

It was not a joke, rather it was a serious, non-binding resolution by 5 state legislators promoting the extraction of coal, oil, gas and the products derived from them.

Coal, for generating electricity, is going to be largely gone in the next 10-15 years. It is a lost cause and good riddance. Nonetheless, one would think coal mining states would be all in favor of EVs.
The others are going to be around for a while. Though economic replacements for them are coming along nicely as well.
Like Earl Pottinger mentioned in the EA thread, I've seen transformations like this in the computer biz multiple times in my career. (Even here at rennlist - I was a "day 1" subscriber back when it was called "porschelist" and email only. None of this newfangled web forum stuff.) One learns to not fight the change. Take advantage of it instead.

“This country is screwed up as if I needed to say that”. I don’t wrap myself with an old glory, but I’ll take what we have here, especially compared to the choices.
Coal has nothing to do with the Wyoming resolution, it’s all about oil and gas.
Although it’s mostly political theater, there are some salient points made regarding the viability of BEV’s in a state like Wyoming and the misguided notion that the switch to BEV’s will have any noticeable effect on the global climate unless and until innovation produces cheap, clean sources of electricity (and it ain’t wind or solar). Until then, the world will need to rely on cheap, reliable fossil based energy production the enable BEV’s to be even reasonably practical and affordable.
In other words, end the war on fossil fuels and embrace a realistic strategy to transition the world to clean energy and mobility.
Regarding the OP, it sucks for those of us who are looking to trade/sell our Teslas to buy a Taycan. The move plucked $10k out of my pocket overnight.
