Drove a Taycan for the first time...
Porsche Roadshow was this past friday and got to drive a Taycan for the first time in GTS trim. They let us do a couple launch controls in it, along with about 15 minutes out on the road (and a bunch more seat time in other vehicles).
I have to say, launch control wasn't nearly as crazy as I thought it would be. Might have been the fact it was on a runway and so skews the perception of speed, but it didn't feel like it hit much harder than my Macan GTS does with launch control (though I know it is quicker) but I guess it's the more dramatic nature of a clutch dump from 5k and some hard PDK shifts.
That said, on the street, the instant torque from a roll is quite something and nothing I've felt in a ICE vehicle before. I can definitely see the appeal, along with the absolute silence/smoothness of electric. Definitely would consider the electric Macan in the future.
I took some video if you guys want to see what we did that day:

Glad you enjoyed it. I ADORE my Taycan! As much as I enjoy my ICE P-cars - electric is awesome especially for daily use.

I had the 4S and I never felt LC was that great. it was fast but I have owned a lot of very fast cars and concurrently had a 992 Turbo S. I traded the 4S up for a Turbo S (for that and other reasons). LC in the turbo S is VERY INSANE and actually makes many people dizzy. Makes the 992 seam subdued....

I rode a taikan for the first time 3 months ago and that download that I am going to make a purchase of it soon
I think to start with doing an inspection.
I always do an inspection before buying a car. I recently bought a car for my wife and did a full inspection, the car was not new but used https://abetter.bid/en/car-finder/type-automobiles so you have to be even more careful. I have noticed that there are a lot of really good options on the used car market right now, so you can look there, maybe you will like something.

Porsche Roadshow comes to my city next week. I'm signed up to road test a Taycan GTS ST. I'm not too interested in how fast it accelerates, rather how well it handles and particular how well it rides on poorer roads. I hope it is equipped with the Vario Light Control pano roof so I can see how clear the view is outward when it is turned off. It's a wait to get an allocation, but my 2021 Cayenne GTS will be a fine ride until a Taycan becomes available.
