Default Charging Failure

Had a really frustrating experience today with the Taycan 4S CT I'm currently driving through my Porsche Drive subscription. I got to an Electrify Canada station with only about 12 km of range remaining, plugged in, used the Porsche Charging app to start the charger, only to have it continually throw off an error (on the charger, not the Porsche app). I tried moving to one of the other chargers, and had the same issue. Tried several more times, same issue. While I was doing this, three other drivers were able to connect to and use the chargers (including the ones I'd tried), even one driver with a Taycan. After 40 minutes on the phone with Electrify Canada trying to resolve the issue, including them rebooting two of the chargers, the issue still wasn't fixed. By this time, the car was showing only 6 km of range, and it just wasn't viable to drive somewhere else. It also seemed like an issue with the car, given that other cars were able to charge without issues.

Has anyone had this same issue when trying to start DC charging from a very low state of charge? I should also mention that it was very cold outside (-10 Celsius).

Now here's the worst part. I Called Porsche roadside assistance. Initially I called the US number in error, and got through immediately to a really nice agent who unfortunately could not help me because I was calling from Canada. She gave me the Canadian number, which had a message saying that the estimated wait / call-back time was 1 hour 45 minutes. Two hours later they still have not called me back. The car is in a parking lot 60 km from my house, and I'm $160 poorer because of the Uber I had to take home.

Yes, the charging issue is frustrating, but it's totally insane that Porsche Canada's roadside assistance has such horrendous service. It's really damaged my perception of the brand.

I really find it strange that another Taycan charged fine. This suggest a software problem at the charger's end.

Yes I've seen exactly the same behavior in the US at an Electrify America charger. EA finally fixed the charger with this problem. Polestars were popping up the same error so it wasn't Porsche specific.

I found a thread on the Taycan Forum site that discusses this exact issue. Apparently it’s resolved by the same bulletin 2120 fix that resolves the plug and charge issue for 2021 cars with the 19.2 kWh onboard charger also fixes the issue I had.
