Taycan main Battery Issues

Taycan main Battery Issues
I'm on the verge of placing a deposit for a Taycan CT4. I've seen some owners on Rennlist.com and on a taycan EV forum talk about needing new main batteries. Would like to hear from real owners if they have had any major issues with the car in general or any need to replace the main battery.
And no I'm not referring to the Teslarati story which I have a hard time believing.
Thanks.

Batteries almost never have problems when new. It's as the batteries age that the real problems start to show up - and its also when the warranties start to expire.
We are currently in the honeymoon phase with the Taycan. Nobody really knows how they are going to age over time, but in general, so far so good.

none that I’m aware of personally - but 2 at local dealer in the past 2 years that I’ve heard from the service manager - I wouldn’t be worried - warranty is 8 years/100,000 miles or close to that - and besides the weight it’s less work than any major component on any ICE vehicle - my wife’s Boxster had it’s PDK transmission replaced, I’m on my 2nd engine in my GT3, and I’ve had other cars with major components replaced under warranty.
The battery is very modular and designed to be replaced by local shop personnel. Service manager was honestly surprised at how easy it was vs. virtually any sort of major service on any other Porsche.
I’m having a hard time understanding your concern. Things break, warranty covers the breakage, frequency of breakage is actually quite low, and complexity of repair/replace for the battery is far less complex than virtually any ICE service.

I drive 15000 miles a year and don't want the hassle of dealing with a problem car.
I agree that issues do come up. Fortunately my Cayenne has the extension of warranty on the transfer case.

My 2020 Taycan has way fewer problems (virtually none other than now fixed 12V battery issue) than my 2021 Cayenne -which is officially a "lemon" given how long it's been out of service.

the two posts from that other forum are not indicative of any sort of massive battery issues. one post was clearly NOT a main battery issue and the other post was a guess of a problem that was never followed up on.
I suspect that post like yours is just a troll

Battery Life
We beat the crap out of the batteries in a 2014 BMW i3 for 5 years in Naples FL where it gets very hot in the summer. 100% to 5% battery charge 5 days a week for 40k miles. After this treatment batteries had fallen to under 80% and were all replaced under warranty in April 2020. I promise not to treat my Taycan 4S this way.

Apparently asking a community such as this a genuine question is misconstrued all too easily.

If you had come here asking about a BMW with a V8 Turbo, that would be a different story.

I drive 30,000 miles a year. The Taycan is not going to be a problem car. There are, and will be, some teething issues. But replacing a battery is literally plug and play. It's not hard. Don't be scared by a few outlying issues.
