This isn’t really true. The investments were capitalized and expensed relatively consistent with production. Tesla did not have the gross margin to be profitable until this year and their historical CFROI is still not pretty. But they’re playing the long game.

I don't own individual stocks, I'm too lazy, but I agree with you that Tesla is currently way overvalued. This was a good read: https://www.barrons.com/articles/tes...on-51636053056 . If Tesla could consistently increase their sales by %50 year after year they might be able to eventually catch up to their market valuation. But that is a risky proposition now that there is a lot of competition coming online.
If you want to see an overvalued stock, look at RIVN. They've gotten a lot of good reviews of the R1T. But they have yet to face "production h*ll". By the time they start to get things figured out, Ford will have the F150 Lightning, GM will have the Silverado EV, and Tesla will have the Cybertruck in production. And Bezos wants his Amazon delivery vans - not R1Ts...

Why anyone would pay 100k for a porsche SUV is beyond me. I almost get the 4 door sedan but again much better products from jeep, bmw tahoe even hiundi. And even at the same ridiculous cost and maitrnance at least land rovers aren't ugly. I would buy a Taycan if I had unlimited $$$. Worlds fastest golf cart
Taycan is priced like a 911. It is as fast ( when comparing similar trims), has pretty decent handling (from what I’ve read), is roomier, is quieter, is more comfortable and looks cool. Why wouldn’t it outsell a hard-riding sports car. The Macan outsells the 911 by 5:1 and that looks like a toad.
