911 to Taycan: anyone switched? Regrets?

Oh and the Taycan makes the current busy, bloated 911 look positively antique.

I agree with you on 992. I said this before, but Porsche was not immune to grille-fungus that spread to all car designs, except here they stuck massive grilles on the rear (the bit you see in traffic a lot). Arguably that's worse. And high performance 992s have this crazy diffusers that look like baboobs butts (imho only, and taycan has the 1980s casette player radiator rear end too a bit, not needed.. ). Never understood what happened to the pretty 993-996-997-991 pretty back ends and why 992 has this bizzaro plastic stuff. But may be agressive and hence popular. Wont age well...

In the other thread someone talks of their dealer having Tacans (sic) rotting on the lot with discounts, while zero 911s available. Whoa.

I've heard people refer to 911s as a "Scottsdale Accord" because there are so many of them around here and I've had 3 so I'm not one to argue. Still, you go down today and buy a 911. That's not the case with a Taycan.
If you don't believe me, no problem, here's a link to their inventory: https://www.porschenorthscottsdale.c...ler-phoenix-az 20 Macans, 2 Panameras, 2 911s, 1 Cayenne, 1 718 Boxster GTS, 1 718 Spyder, 0 Taycans, 0 CTs.

I considered it, moving from my 991.2 4s to a Taycan 4s and abandoned the idea. The Taycan is a very large car compared ro my 911. Getting in and out of the Taycan felt even more difficult than my 911. Finally, rear visibility was terrible. Maybe the CT but that is even bigger. Being used to the small size of the 911, I don’t think I could get used to such a large car.

Dont know why this was a design choice - looks (balanced doors) which works, or something else.
Anyone know?

My perspective. 911 for track car. Taycan for everything else.

90% of 911 owners probably use their cars on roads, have some kind of daily also for shopping runs and thus, drive something thats bad for morale most of time, and 911 every now and then on weekends and call it fun. I reckon Taycan will give you a similar experience (not same, similiar) but on daily basis. That was my logic but most people here say they track and race their cars, but I think this is just forum bias perhaps. I see many 911s and even GT3s for sale that have no clubsport pack, no rollcage, etc. Something tells me people who track their 911s are a tiny minority.
Oh thats amazing I am really excited to know this, bot, may be you can you also tell us about your NFT project?

I don't review the Taycan as a 911 replacement. I love the Taycan but it's really a practical daily driver with sporty driving characteristics and styling cues that give a nod to Porsche's racing heritage. In a perfect world you would own both. Everyone wants one car that can do everything but I just don't think it's possible. I'm adding a Land Rover Defender as my daily driver and keeping my 911S for weekends and fun drives during the week.
