if the parlor trick like fast launch is your thing, tesla can win that fight, however the tesla cannot match the overall performance of the taycan.
The new Model S battery pack and cooling are supposed to allow consistent performance similar to the Model 3's.

In addition, there's zero chance of the base RWD Taycan (or likely even the 4S) outrunning the new 670hp LR Model S, regardless of speed.

Just like there's not much chance of the Model S cornering as well as any Taycan...

that is all theoretically true but at this point that model s remains in the realm of vaporware, elon has a bit of a history of overpromising and underdelivering. back in 2014 he promised the ability for FSD to drive the car coast to coast, still waiting.

I’ve had 5 Tesla’s in the past 9 years (2012 model s, 2016 model s, 2016 model x and two model 3 performances 2018 and 2019). I kept one for my wife and soon to be my daughters car and traded the other one on a Taycan 4s. Honestly aside from autopilot the Taycan is a next level EV. The Tesla is tired from a design standpoint, the drive quality is mediocre and the interior fit and finish sucks IMO.

What about exterior fit and finish? I have seen recent Model Ys with panel fit and finish that looks worse than the fit and finish on a Toyota Yaris.

yeah it's a mixed bag - but if it'a bad don't take delivery - most of Tesla's cars are good - there are ones that are bad and customers don't call them out on it and refuse delivery.

If the cars are so bad, why did you buy so many of them over time? I would have thought you would have quit after the second or third one.

While I am loving my Taycan 4S, I don't think the Porsche fans should dismiss those that have a Tesla. They each have different strengths and are at different price points. As I noted to start this thread, the Tesla does have some strengths and I gave serious consideration to getting the Model S. If utility, price, features, range are important a strong case can be made for the Tesla. It is a lot of car for the money. Many place those strengths above the drive characteristics. That being said the Taycan is special in different ways and am loving mine!

I love having an EV and each model was slightly better than the last. I also continued to believe they would improve the software and eventually release a full self driving platform. Ultimately, it was a compromise to have the tech and torque of an EV. We can also thank Tesla for revolutionizing the auto industry with high priced “luxury” EV. Without them there might not be a Taycan. Doubtful I’ll ever own another one although I’m intrigued by the truck and the new Roadster if they ever release it! Lol
