Thank god they will be off the road for a while...
I race, and it always strikes me when I'm coming back from a race how much more anxious I am driving on public roads and highways than on the racetrack. It's like going from order to chaos. On the track, at least you know that pretty much everyone knows what they're doing (you learn to spot the ones that don't very quickly), and everyone is focused and you know what to expect. On the public roads it is the complete opposite. You have people driving that should not ever have been issued a license, people that are impaired, and maybe worst of all, people that are not paying attention because they're looking at their cellphones. I was encouraged to hear Mark Weber say exactly the same thing when he took a rider out in the Taycan - something to effect of "...I'm much more nervous about driving on public roads than the racetrack".

Serious question...does the Taycan have a hill-holder feature? Possible driver felt car rolling backwards on the slope, and stabbed the accelerator instead of the brake by mistake?

Impressive. Can't complain about the instant torque in the Taycan. It punted the black SUV without issue and still almost cleared the berm and blue car. With a little practice, I'd say the driver can clear the blue car.

Good analysis! You've really got to want it when jumping cars. It's not for the feint of heart.

My dad had a 5000S Turbo. I can recall, on three separate occasions, the car accelerating out of control while driving. It was not user error, my dad clearly called my attention to it and showed me his foot was off the gas. If I recall, that car did not have cruise control. Was quickly solved by shutting the car off in neutral and re-starting after pulling over. Good thing my dad was driving and not my mom (not sexist, but my mom wasn't a great driver although she did drive stick).
Never happened upon startup in the garage.
That car was a flaming pile of ****. Great car when it worked, although it had galactically long turbo lag. It was just way too far ahead of it's time.
