Not my car. I definitely wouldn't pay for a Turbo S and then delete the carbon pieces. It's a launch car but dealers will sell them at some point. I've seen this noted before on the early 997 and 991 cars.

IMHO: Carbon is visually overrated and its time will soon be over I think. Gloss Black or even Matte Black is less distracting from a form/function perspective...

Maybe, but you pay for the carbon fiber and then Porsche gives you black plastic for zero dollars. It's bad enough having to pay for some options that are free on a Toyota but it's worse when they don't give you a credit for a less expensive part. If I hated the carbon I would price out the black trim pieces and swap them out myself.

If you are so concerned about getting your monies worth, I would probably suggest shopping something other than a Porsche...

Thanks for the advise. I'm really liking the e-tron sportback.

I thought the same thing and was going to delete the carbon fiber until I went to Frankfurt and saw a show car with the Gloss Black. The running boards by the doors looked TERRIBLE with scratches all over. Plus the carbon fiber looked really good IMO. I would definitely NOT get the gloss black.

I can't speak for this specific implementation, just in generalities (black vs carbon) and, of course, this is all personal opinion.

Although I ultimately did leave all the "std" carbon stuff in my TurboS build, I also did not add any additional carbon trim. I was considering taking it all off (for black) but I figured the fewer tweaks I did to this build the less exposure I would have to "first year problems".

Never-the-less, your perspective is appreciated!

V250 Vehicle Fixed 11/11/2019
V260 Vehicle Entry to Body Shop 12/20/2019
V270 Vehicle Production 01/24/2020
V300 Vehicle Completion 01/24/2010
V331 Entry port Emden 01/24/2019
V332 Exit port Emden 02/14/2020
U002 Entry port Houston 03/06/2020
U003 Exit port Houston 03/06/2020
V900 Dealer Inventory 04/10/2020

There is some possibility of dates moving up, but I'm OK with this schedule. Demo cars at the dealer were pushed back by about 20 days to mid-December. Reveal is scheduled then and I'll get to drive one of the demo cars. Cannot wait!!!

Update from my salesperson yesterday. On my commission (number D55967), all dates are holding as originally quoted. My build will be caught up in the factory shutdown/holiday that usually occurs at years end. Car goes into the Body Shop on 12/20 (two weeks from today) and exits production 01/24/2020Will sit in the port for three weeks waiting for a boat and will spend about three weeks on the water to Houston. They show it being released for shipment to dealer on 03/06/2020, but then a one month delay to get it from Houston to Fort Worth. My guess is that last timeframe will be shortened considerably, so I am hopeful to have my car perhaps mid-March? We shall see.

Steven's Creek Porsche San Jose is quoting Taycan Turbo's with early may delivery date - for what it's worth.

MSRP if they have an allocation for you - hard to tell - only people I've heard from are previous customers.

Does that mean that if you are high on the list, that that is when the first Turbos are coming out?

my understanding is that they already have 100s of deposits so unless they are all for 4s or Turbo S, then placing an order today you won't get anything in May.

What about "Turbo S" allocations? Anyone know of any deliveries prior to July?
