Default Autoblog - Audi E-Tron GT teased...A Taycan by another name?

So, a Taycan based car....that's debuting before the Taycan?

Weird.

Other thoughts, in no particular order.....

Not surprising....shared arch means lower per unit tooling costs.

Audi, get the E-Tron SUV to market pronto, please. Concentrate on that.

Looks good under the covers...

If this is Taycan based, it'll certainly cost less than the Taycan. Which is said to be priced between Cayenne and Panny. So figure one of these with options is going to be in the mid-$80's?

What is taking so long Porsche? Trying to protect the 992 launch exclusivity?

I just sold my i3 looking forward to the porsche/audi offerings. Have been waiting what seems like forever for new options in the EV space. The 'in 2 years we'll have xyz' cycle is getting tiresome.

Excited to finally see SOMETHING get built/released.

Also really curious on how the pricing of these new options are going to pan out.

Here it is with camo paint job and no cover. An odd thing to release the day before the actual unveiling.
Spoiler alert: It's an A7

Looks good, although not as sexy as the Mission E concept. Makes a Model S look outdated.

If the car really looks that fantastic and is priced well below the Taycan, it’s going to cause some grief to the Porsche version IMHO.

Looks terrific and surely puts pressure on Porsche to turn out something beautiful and not a Panamera clone turd.

Yup. Looks way better than the mules. I’d buy this in a heartbeat.

If anything the E-tron GT shows that the Taycan platform can support a gorgeous car design. It's much better looking than I would have expected. This gives me a lot of hope that the Taycan will definitely have an aggressive look and be very unique. Not just a baby Panamera.

this Audi E-Tron GT Concept doesn't seem to have any door handles.

https://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/...1-daten-preis/

Preislich wird er sich unterhalb des Taycan einsortieren, aber mit etwa 100.000 Euro wird zu rechnen sein. = Around €100k, but less than Taycan.

The final product looks much better than even the camo'd "leak" from two days suggested (at least for me). So hopefully with the final detailing the Taycan will also look much better than the current mules suggest, even if the fundamental proportions don't change.

It seems like the Taycan is further along in development and will come out first, surely...

That's how it looks. Early 2020 for the Taycan and late 2020 for the e-tron GT.
We should all remember that the e-tron GT in these reports is a concept. We all know the Taycan concept (as the Mission-e) was stunning and the production reality looks less impressive. The e-tron GT may be toned down in the same way as it approaches production.

not so fast my friend. According to Audi, this is largely the production version.

If it is....wow.
