That's correct, with extremely reliable products, notwithstanding battery degradation in the first few years. In 2013, they outsold the Tesla MS.

Since its introduction in 2010, more than 400,000 units have been sold worldwide by March 2019, making the Leaf the world best-selling highway-capable electric car to date.

given that Tesla is shipping quarterly annual leaf volumes and will this quarter surpass world wide all time leaf volumes I consider the leaf mostly a compliance car sold in quants world wide that don't match Tesla -

https://www.greencarreports.com/news...e-global-sales

and that was in march - we're another 200,000 Tesla's later since then…

Tesla is the only company shipping nearly 100,000 EV's a quarter - and ramping up…

Nissan is a distant 2nd place

I believe you also referred to "company", not model. But alas, moot now anyway as you mentioned above. And they sold in 2 years what Nissan sold in 8 at twice the price.

In Top Gear's test Taycan Turbo S beat the Raven Model S Performance.

However there is something more interesting. Top Gear was unable to beat the time with the new Raven S Performance which they achieved with the previous P100D. They ended up using the P100D's numbers in the comparison. Is the older car faster??? Tesla's website says newer is faster. Who is telling the truth?

Your information is outdated. I have already said what's happened with the Raven's time.

There have been some questions about the performance figures we posted in our recent Porsche Taycan vs Tesla Model S video. Time for some clarification.

First things first, we ran the drag race five times and the Porsche won every time by a small but increasing margin with each subsequent race.

The best figures we recorded for the Taycan Turbo S were:

0-60: 2.61
0-100: 6.12
¼ mile: 10.69s @ 131.6mph

The best figures we recorded for the Tesla Model S Performance were:

0-60: 2.83
0-100: 6.64
¼ mile: 11.23s @ 123.2mph

The numbers we posted in the video for the Tesla were:

0-60: 2.68
0-100: 6.46
¼ mile: 11.08s @ 124.0mph

These were numbers we recorded in a Model S on a previous occasion. We ran them because these are the best figures we’ve achieved in a Model S to date so we know that’s what the car is capable of.

And just to be clear, the Tesla was in Ludicrous+ mode, the battery was pre-conditioned and both cars had around 85 per cent charge before the first run.

Looked like a very clean win to Porsche 😀

In fact 5-0 to Porsche 😀

Note the 8mph trap difference

Personally I’d like to see the track tests 😀

we know the Model S sucks on track - I find it soo funny the Porsche guys are sooo happy that the Taycan is beating an 8 year old design, and not by a lot. Let's see which one can drive further on a charge.

Thank you for the "clarification" although those obviously are just more lies after initial lies. Only thing this did is those were not even honest mistake. "Best figures we've achieved" what is that? They are still trying to evade questions if it's the lastest Raven model and whether they've used launch control. What a bunch of jokers.

If you watched their video, you would know it's the Raven Performance.

First model year of the P100D is 2016. The Raven got new power train, inverters and suspension recently with some chassis mods.

Raven came out this year with top speed of 163 mph. The test car screen had 155 mph. Someone also noticed it's on range mode, which is the power saving mode. A lot was wrong you can't blame them to even innocent mistakes. They should know better.

The video did not include the actual race and they said that. They used range mode to keep the battery warm between runs when playing with the camera.

Well it was always blatantly obvious to many of us - However, it wasn’t obvious to and wasn’t acknowledged by the Tesla fan club on here.

Again it’s never been about 0 to 60 it’s always been about performance in the round - something Tesla has never had and the vast majority of the electric Jesus fan club fail to understand, conversely performance in the round is something Porsche owners value - and performance in the round is often revealed by track times and handling tests, in particular the repeatable nature of these tests whether through multiple launches or multiple hot laps. This speaks to other issues such as build quality and long term reliability.

What I find funny is the inability of Tesla owners to acknowledge what is plain to see to the rest of the world. Hubris is such a delight to behold as it engulfs those so prone to it. .

The Taycan is a better made product than anything Tesla produces - it will be shown to be far quicker round a track and be quicker down the strip than anything Tesla currently produces. This has been obvious for a long time.

For many of us, Like whoopsy, range is not an issue for a vehicle that would be used as a daily, largely round town and the occasional foray into the wilderness.

Likewise for many of us price is not an issue - whereas, it clearly is for plenty of Tesla owners.
