Default New (to me) 2011 spyder

Hi just picked up my new (to me) 2011 spyder . Have to say, it's instantly addictive. I'll try and post more pictures when I can.

Congrats!

Yes they are very addictive. I spent 3 hours in the canyons yesterday just exploring the roads. If I didn't have work to get done around the house I would have kept exploring!

Enjoy in good health.

I didn't fully appreciate these cars until I saw one at Werks Reunion this past summer. It was a simple, stock car, but I just couldn't stop looking at it. It really had such a classic look to it. Turned out to be one of my favorites that day, even with all the iconic cars out there. Looks great in white too.

They definitely get in your blood. Congrats to the OP, mine looks much like yours except I don't have sport chrono.

One of the best features of the 987 Spyder is the ability to take off the back cover of the top, but leave to top cover in place. I ABSOLUTELY love that feature and think Porsche really missed the mark with the new Spyder by not keeping that functionality.

+3..The top of the original Spyder is the whole point of interest. The new Spyder is too much like a regular Boxster. The quirkiness is what made the original so cool. I've only had the car for about 2 months now, but the top up with the rear panel removed and windows down, is my favorite of the three configurations.

Congratulations, Marvinta! Looks cool and classic! If I had the money, I would pick one up!

I can see how useful the rear plastic window with a zipper can be. Reminds me of the second-gen Miata. With 981 Spyder's top being completely different, probably wouldn't have been possible or needed for the zipper window.
