Here's some pics from a local PCA get together in KC on Sat. I got to park my 987.2 Spyder next to a 981 Spyder, both in white, and got a great side-by-side comparison. Among my impressions:
1) The 987 Spyder is significantly smaller than the 981, which I think fits the nature of the car better. Unfortunately, the pictures I took didn't really capture that.
2) I like the original top FAR better than the faux wings on the new Spyder. Porsche blew it big time with the top redesign.
3) I am not crazy about the aggressive lip around the opening in the front bumper on the new car, however, the new front bumper looks far more modern than the old one.
4) I prefer the look of the rounded humps on the 987 to the squared off humps on the 981 trunk lid.
5) I have major 3.8 liter envy. lol

Hi RSGT,
this signal green is still impressive and real good looking!
I was afraid that the car might got already a new owner as it showed up like two-three weeks ago on mobile.de...:-( Hope you continue to enjoy this great cat!

Just try to visualize how it would look to add a carmin red Spyder and a yellow Spyder () to this great line up... IMHO the perfect color combination

That's actually something that I noticed when my car was parked next to the 981 Spyder. From my perspective, the 987 Spyder has more of a "rump" than the 981, which has a more flared rear fender. One's not necessarily better than the other, but I haven't heard many people mention it before and I think it helps define the flavor of each car. The flares on the 981 definitely look more modern to me, but the non flared 987 fenders give it more of a minimalistic feel, at least in my opinion.

Really Cool. B&W effect is really cool. Pic w/ 911 - sweet! That 911... wow.
