Spyder memoirs in pics

Had the spyder PPI'ed for an interested buyer. Owner of Squires says "One of the cleanest, if not the cleanest PPI he has ever seen in terms of the mechanical and cosmetic condition". My happiness for the super excited buyer has overtaken my melancholy to lose one of the best cars I have ever owned. I am very hopeful that the journey for one of the earliest spyders produced will continue in the form of pics in this thread as it is indeed going to a Rennlister . The moment he drove it he looked at me and said " Amar, I want to make this work".

Sad and happy, sad to see you leaving the Spyder fold and happy to see that it’s going to a fellow Rennlister. Looking forward to hearing from the new owner and getting impressions.

We will certainly miss all your wonderful Spyder photography that captures so beautifully the unique features of these special cars. Thanks for sharing so many great images, many worthy of framing.

I'm just being true to my RL signature:
"Our cars are meant to be driven ... Not polished"
Ferry Porsche
Moving forward I want to just enjoy one old school and one modern Porsche. So 4 cars had to become two. In Jan of 2018 I told myself that I would keep my spyder and GT3 in heated storage and just drive some of my early cars .. A Dalmatian blue 73 E was sold. No spyder No RS during spring, summer and early fall other than just exercises just to keep the fluids warmed up once a month. Then I wanted to go back to my water cooled cars and drive em back to back for a week (really long spirited drives) in late fall and decide which of the two I would want to sell in 2019. Decision was tough as to which one between the GT3 and spyder should be let go. But opportunity presented in the form of strong interest for the spyder in RL and my decision was easy. I also take pride in not only caring for these cars but also in finding a good match when it comes to moving my cars on. The more I interacted with this buyer the more I was rooting for him to become its next custodian. He knows that there are examples with lesser miles out there .. but he wanted one that had a history .. He wanted mine. Period.
Suicide Jocky/Grgallo thank you for the kind words. Its all good folks. Car will stay right in my backyard. New owner willing, I am hopeful to continue the trend of taking pics of the spyder. The reason this thread was inactive was because the car was not driven this year. After all one of the most photographed spyders out there deserves better treatment than what I gave it this year. Hence the move.
