How stiff is it to live with for daily driving? According to that article, it's slightly stiffer than PASM in stiff mode- how is PASM in stiff mode on the street? I drove around with it a bit when the 981 first came out, but I can't really recall just how it was.

If' it's anything like the Spyder it will be very compliant and only harsh over very rough roads.

PASM if you plan to use the car for daily driving. Sport suspension for weekend/track/country road fun.
Also, when comparing the spring rates between 987 and 981, keep in mind that a stiffer chassis (981) can take stiffer springs without feeling harsh or brittle.

I ordered our base 981 with PASM and PTV. I was agonizing over the sport suspension and after reading the EVO article and the reviewer's complaints about the sport suspension being too harsh I ordered PASM. I really wish I had ordered the sport suspension. The PASM does a nice job tightening things up and combined with PTV helps rotation and stability, but it does not give enough feedback or provide enough stiffness for me personally. It feels less harsh than the previous generation (987/997) PASM when turned off. If I had to do it over again: Sport Suspension+PTV.
