Default Red Spyder Order- Thoughts/Suggestions?

Here is what I'm planning on ordering- any thoughts? A couple of areas I've been thinking quite a bit on:
1. I'm not sure on the Sport/Short shift. I'm trying to find a Spyder with it within driving distance to test it out. From what I'm reading the Sport can feel a bit notchy and does not proved as confident of an engagement.
2. I'm 6'3" so it's a bit of a tight fit either way but....Bucket or Sport Seats? I really love the look of the Buckets/Carbon Fiber, but love to have a warm butt on those early cold morning drives to the office(and can't have both).....and I plan to just leave the top off almost year round...so I'd be really nice to have the heated seats.
3. Model Deletion, from what I'm reading I can either have it removed or not, if it's included, then I can have the dealer shorten it down to just Spyder centered. There is no box to check for just Spyder (Is this the case?)

Here is the order: Ultra Sporty, yet Sophisticated by leather.

Nice list of options. Two things you may want to consider. If you do any type of twisty mountain road driving at night, I feel the Bi-Xenons are a must as they turn in the direction of your steering input. My previous vehicle did not have this and I could easily outdrive the lights around a corner. Second consideration is when fueling. There is a retrofit for Porsches's that suffer from back pressure which triggers the fueling pump nozzle to shut off. It's a pain trying to get a full tank of gas in a smaller gas tank than a regular Boxster. From what the dealer told me the Aluminum Fuel Gas Cap is not compatible with the retrofit. Since you can get the gas cap after delivery of your car, you may want to make sure that you don't need the retrofit before buying it.

The Spyder is an absolute joy to drive, you're going to love it.

Overall sounds like a nice build.

I'd skip the short shift. I've driven one and perfer the regular shifter. The standard manual thows aren't that long and its a pleasure to use. The sport/short shift version feels notchy and not that impressive.

Also, I'm not a fan of the red instruments. I'd rather have white or black. Its just easier on my eyes and I think easier to read at a glance, but thats just me.

I'd agree with Bensf and add the bi-xenons.

Everything else sounds great.
Good luck and best regards,
Dino

I apologize in advance for asking the question since you probably already shared your impressions, but is the car half as good as everyone says?

I'm on the other side of the country in CA...so we'll likely never cross paths...Thank you very much for the offer though.....
I can't wait to see the pic's......as I'm toying with the idea of deleting the side stripes... (not sure if they enhance the look of the car or not).

I was on the fence about the stripes too. They have really grown on me and I love them on the car!

In my humble, bi-xenons and sport buckets are a must with the Spyder. I have a short shift in my Spyder and I love it -- I recently drove a Cayman w/o the short shift and it confirmed my preference for the short shift.

agree about the red instruments. too much red, and hard to read.
also 'boxter spyder' on the rear looks good.

I have the short-shifter, and I love it. Don't pay too much attention to what people say about it being notchy, high-effort, etc. It is definitely stiff when cold, and it loosens up significantly over the break-in period.

FYI, the 'aluminum-look' gas cap is silver painted plastic. If what bensf says is true, I would definitely skip it. My Spyder has the fuel top-off affliction.

It looks like I've got a build slot- decision time...this much fun shouldn't be legal...
I hardly ever drive at night and defn not on twisty roads so I'll pass on the bi-X, definitly will get the short shift, and beige leather on everything instead of black, and no side stripe (too much black contrasting the tan interior)... Thanks for the link JSF101...
