Default Boxster Spyder-A few dumb questions

How do you check the engine oil? Is "automatic climate control" an A/C? Is the seatback angle adjustable on sport buckets? Would it be stupid to use this car for 300 or 400 mile road trip(I wouldn't want to go that far with the top down)?
Thanks for the help

The engine oil is checked via the OBC. You select 'oil' when the engine is warm and after a few seconds the level is displayed on a segmented column indication.

Automatic climate control is an automatic, thermostatically controlled A/C.

Seatback angle isn't adjustable. Most people seem to find them very comfortable (including me).

A long road trip is fine, so long as you accept that even with the roof up, there's a lot of wind noise.

I actually thought the wind noise was very tolerable and you could have a normal conversation at 70 mph. At least that is what I found in my brief test drive.

Sport buckets are incredibly comfortable and at the perfect angle for driving. In fact I initially had planned to order with Sports Seats but after sitting in them and driving the car I couldn't get it out of my mind how nice they are.

Oh I agree - the wind noise is perfectly tolerable, but there is quite a bit of it.

wind noise is relative to what you're used to. I normally drive with the top down (which is quieter than the S2000 with the top down - Spyder has less engine sounds even though wind noise is similar). But with just the sunshade on, the car is quite a bit quieter. Never driven it fully closed up.

The wind noise because bothersome to me after a half hour or so. I use a pair of those cheap foam ear plugs for longer trips. You can still carry on a conversation with these in your ears and they are comfortable to wear for long periods.

Thanks.
Two more: does it have a spare tire and can one person put the top on or does it take two? The saleswoman I talked to today says it takes two...

No spare.. you get a can of fix-a-flat and a 12-volt air compressor. Carry a cell.

Top is definitely a one-person operation. Pretty easy once you get the hang of it (which took only 1 -2 on-off cycles).

Dream came true. I got to drive a Boxster Spyder yesterday and today at PSDS Barber Raceway.
Bucket seats and PDK. What an awesome car!! Very quick and handles like a dream. The bucket seats are great.
