I've seen a few here in SF. There's a red one that parked in the o'farrell garage by macy's regularly. Couple white ones. Favorite was a silver one dashing up 101 into the fog. As a result, I'm thinking my next small car will be a silver one.
Around 516 Spyders have been sold in the US. On average 10 per state or 2 1/2 cars per dealer. Seeing a Spyder on the road is tougher than seeing Big Foot.

That silver one (if spotted in Marin) is likely me ("dashing" through the fog, to and from the city). I've got over 10k miles on my Spyder now, and I am loving it more and more.

It was right out of a commercial. I was cruising up towards Sausalito and SF in my new silver Cayenne when this silver Spyder with the black top up passed just as that heavy fog comes out of nowhere. Tried to grab my iphone for a shot but I was too slow. Similar sighting with a 959 on that same stretch.
I'm in San Francisco and I've only seen three on the road. Two in the Bay Area and one in Simi Valley. The dealership I take my car to said that they only have three Spyders that they service regularly and that includes mine. As n2cars said, Spyders are rare.
