So we all know that us lucky Spyder owners have a few buttons that are purely panel filler.... Example the spoiler button. It's there, but obviously does not light up as we don't have a speed activated spoiler. My question is the rear defrost button.... We have no glass with defrost yet the button lights up like it's actually doing something. Porsche too lazy to deactivate the light? Or am I missing something?

 

Side mirror heaters.

I had the same question when I first picked up my Spyder. Looking through the generic Boxster owners manual, I noticed it said that when the button is pressed the rear winder heater and the exterior side mirror heaters are are turned on. Since the rear glass is gone but the exterior side mirrors remain, I can't help but think Porsche left the button for that reason.
