Turned 150000 miles in the rain today. I bought this high mileage Spyder a couple months ago so I have only pull 3000 miles of them. Car has amazed me how good it drives with the mileage, I have records from new, the original Lady owner serviced it regularly but it does show the mileage nothing bad just a little wear here and there. I’m really digging driving this car stress free from putting miles on it or wear and tear.

Very cool! The reliability of these cars really does seem pretty great. What are the issues you are noticing? i’m looking for a higher mileage, guilt-free driver’s Spyder myself

The car came with all service receipts since new and I did not see any big problem with the car ever. The engine and trans feels like a 30k mile car, the clutch was replaced right before I got the car but I did change the shifter cables and had a Function-First bearing shifter kit installed. Suspension and steering are also like a low miles car. The ignition switch was acting strange so I replaced it and the driver door look only worked half the time so I had that replaced. The speakers sound terrible other then that the car is solid.

In the history of receipts was the water pump or steering pump replaced?

105 pages of receipts.
Two water pumps, power steering hoses but no pump. Two clutches. Several sets of brakes and tires. Horns replaced three times. PCM problems three times, soft top latch three times. Ball joints two times. I don’t see any engine, transmission or suspension problems

I’m not sure if the speakers are rubbish because of degradation, but if they are, then I managed to get the cone for one of mine rebuilt.

Total cost so far. I don’t think ownership cost will go up to much more other than regular maintenance, my inter-self keeps telling me to mod it, headers, coil overs and wide body but it drives so good as is and looks so good I think I will keep it stock.

Thanks for sharing. With that kind of mileage, I want you to try and put as many miles on it as possible. Excited to watch you get to 200k. Enjoy every mile and smile.

Top looks like new, the latch has been replaced twice.
