Default AUX/Audio Inquiry

Hi all, I have recently come into ownership of a 987.2 Porsche Boxster Spyder. It is incredible, and I have loved it in my first few days of ownership. However, I have an inquiry regarding the AUX/Audio on the car. On the display screen, my Porsche indicates the AUX input (as pictured). However, I cannot find the audio/AUX input jack anywhere in the car. Upon inspecting the owners manual/options list, it appears that the car was optioned with the CDR3.0 head unit, which should come with the AUX port. Instead, there is only the power output in my car. Is there a fix for this issue? I would love to enjoy the speakers on my car going forward. Thank you all so much (I have attached the pictures regarding the aforementioned issue).

No such thing as CDR3.0 ...it's either CDR30 or PCM 3.0 ...the PCM-equipped cars all came with the AUX input which would be enabled in the car's systems and located in the center arm rest, at least in the US. In other countries, it may have been that your car came with PCM, but no AUX or the previous owner remvoed it. Or maybe the car didn't have it, but the previous owner had the AUX enabled to run an aftermarket solution that utilized the input somehow.

Hi, sorry, I meant CDR30. Thank you for the reply, I will look into it.

As crazy as it sounds the Aux connection in the center console was a free option but you had to check the box to get it. Whoever ordered the car failed to check the box which is truly unfortunate.

Got it, thank you for the information, that is truly unfortunate. It must have just been overlooked by the original owner. Is there a way to retrofit the system? I see online that it is possible to buy a new console with the AUX, IPod and USB ports, but I am not sure how the wiring would work, might have to take it to a shop to check on it. If not, what do you think I could do to use the speakers?

I have two Spyders. One has just the aux and the other has aux/usb/ipod. I didn’t know that there was a third option. I like where the power point is.

Yeah I guess there is...I'll work on figuring out if I can retrofit any of those options. Current Carplay retrofit options from Porsche are in silver, not black, so that is unfortunately not an option unless I want to repaint it.

I get humming on the aux input. I would look for a quality Bluetooth input. I’m sure it can be done.
