I know my ppf at about year 6 provided a slight color shift to the front 1/3 of the car - so worth asking about if folks inquire on this spyder

That could be it too. Unusual to have PPF on the bumper and not the fenders and hood, but, then again, based on the badging and decals, anything is possible here.

A front bumper respray wouldn’t be a big deal as long as there isn’t something more lurking underneath. A proper match would be nice though assuming there is paintwork.

And, having looked more closely at the pictures, the color shift of old PPF is slightly darker - not lighter like the front bumper here. zdet is right: something worth carefully checking out.

You guys are so picky. You can get approved in minutes (!) at Silicon Valley Cars and you get fixated on badges.

Personally I like the red negative "Spyder" on the sills.

Looking at the carfax, it shows minor damage to the front and side of the car so it’s likely had some paintwork done. Certainly worth investigating further to make sure there’s nothing bad lurking underneath but if it was minor it’s unlikely.

There’s some positives and a number of negatives about the car. I would be concerned about the accident repair if the shop that did the work couldn’t competently match the paint off of modern paint codes. If you have a sophisticated shop the paint match should be identical. The drivers seat also looks to be quite badly worn for this mileage, which may suggest other issues about prior ownership. I’d entertain saving the car and bringing it back to 10/10ths, but paint work from a less than stellar shop scares me a lot. I’m am looking but wish it was a bit closer so I could put my eyes on it.

If you're looking for a Spyder you'd want to regularly drive and not worry about this looks pretty good especially at the price point.

If I was in the market I'd go for a car like this over a 5,000 mile queen. If it turns out to be a good car, I'd spend a little money to fix up the cosmetics and enjoy it for a few years. If it springs problems at this price you're unlikely to lose much money.

Well this looks like a great price for a LWBS / PDK with some miles. Part our the seats for some sofas and $10K and you'd have a fantastic car for around $40K.

P.s. And it does have cup holders!

An amusing observation..... Note that in the CarGurus market analysis provided with the ad, this Spyder is lumped in with all 2011 Boxsters. So CarGurus claims that this Spyder's "Avg. market price" should be $40,195, so the advertised price is about $10,000 too high. Methinks that the CarGurus market analysis algorithm is a bunch of codswallop.

I don’t know that I’ve ever seen the dash stripe not match the exterior color. Was that an option code we’ve missed in the FAQ?

that car also shows sport shifter.

Does deletion of the model designation also mean that the rocker lettering is deleted? Or was the rocker panel "porsche" letting removed by an owner on their own?
