NZ has wonderful roads. Ages ago we spent a month driving both islands, unfortunately in a mumble-mumble rental car. One high point was somewhere in the mountains on South Island, when we were passed by a squadron of Sunbeam Tigers not exactly dawdling. After a while, we caught up to them stopped at a scenic overlook. Fun conversation. My favorite roads were on the South Island where two-lane roads abruptly became one-lane bridges. Can't imagine (or maybe I can) what fun a Spyder would be on those roads. Thanks for sharing the video!

Got a couple of interesting responses but nothing firm. Several owners contemplating selling, maybe fishing for me to send a large check? I’ll always pay market for a car, but I’m not going to write large checks over that. They made enough of these and they are new enough that patience will pay off. Plus, you never know which way market moves…

964, Longhood hot rod and a Spyder would make the most epic threesome of Porsches to choose from!
I’m glad I snagged the 964 when I did as I believe they’re going to continue on their trajectory. I also believe the Spyder will follow suit but it will be a while before they really take off.
Good luck with the search.

Hi all. Sorry OP don't mean to high jack this thread. Long time member not very active on posting but active on buying parts in the classified section. I used own a few air/water cooled (912, GBody, 964, 914, 987.2 Spyder and 997.2 GTS). Luckily I still own a couple special cars. Anyway I've been looking for a Cayman R. I posted a WTB ad but some were either insanely overpriced or the owners weren't ready to sell. Thanks to those who reached out.
Question: A PDK Cayman R with light options came up. It doesn't have sports exhaust, sports chrono, no Bose stereo and with sofas. It extremely clean, peridot with matching wheels, one owner with 68+ miles. What do you think a car like this is worth?

68k+ miles? under $60k likely.
Based on what I see out there and see trading (not only BAT), spyder and R seem to trade similar-ish

Sellers that don't want to sell their Spyders are a tough bunch. You gotta pony up for a nice one, and prices are rising.
Just sayin'!![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Ps. And yes, I should have get my first one, and my second one...

yes and no, prices are all over the map, the issue is supply. the low mile, special spec cars will get the most $. They are still 'cheap' by new car standards.
