Default Interior overhead light

As usual, what I thought would be a simple job is more complicated than expected. Has anyone replaced the interior overhead light on their Spyder with an LED?

I’ve taken out the fixture and removed the bulb, but LED replacements are all over the place on the internet. Surely I’m not the first person to do this - can anyone tell me which LED bulb they used?

I’ve attached a pic of the fixture just for your viewing pleasure. Much more to it than expected.

OK, I’ll answer my own question. Below is a picture of the box with bulbs I purchased (box contains 2 bulbs) on Amazon for about $10. The bulb fits perfectly as a replacement for the overhead light in the Spyder, AND is a perfect replacement for the bulb used in the glovebox. Huge difference in lighting.

You’re welcome 😉

6000k would be a very blue-ish light, no? Do you have any photos of it illuminated?

blue-ish? All in the eye of the beholder I suppose. All I know is that it’s not incandescent yellow anymore. And it’s bright. Pics below.

That is bright indeed! They look good and I'm certain more functional.

Figured it was worth an experiment. Not actually sure how much brighter the dome light is but I never really use it so I’m probably a bad judge. Glove box is brighter for sure. Looks neat for $10 either way.

Would the same bulbs work in the license plate lights? I’m guessing no.
