I'm a long-time 987 Boxster owner and am hoping to add a Spyder (the pinnacle of the 987 in my opinion) in the near future, and I have one nagging concern: headroom with the top up.

I'm 6'3" with a long torso, and the Boxster fits me perfectly with manual seats.

Does the sloped roof of the Spyder cut down on headroom? If so, how much?

Relatedly, do the buckets add headroom (sit lower) compared to the sofas/sport seats?

Can't answer your sloped roof question but in my experience as well as many other peoples experience, the manual sport seats sit lower than the GT2 folding buckets. I've even heard of some guys removing the velcro cushion on the GT2 buckets so that they're able to fit on track with a helmet (this is for coupes, not Spyders). In my experience the 918 fixed back buckets also sit lower than the GT2 folding buckets.

Although it may appear that the roof slopes, it's actually the side of the top and not in the center. The slope starts behind the roll hoops. I am 6'2", with more legs than torso granted, and I fit just fine with plenty of room. This is in the bucket seats.

You should be fine!

I fit fine in my Spyder with LWB. I'm 6'4" with a 35" inseam.
