The trim piece where the harnesses pass through on the seat back was painted red by the car's previous owner and I want to return it to black. My questions is, what kind of black is it?
For those that have these seats, would you mind letting me know if it is gloss or matte, and/or if it matches any other trim in the car that I might be able to match it to?
Also, if anyone wants red harness pass throughs I would be happy to trade. They are the OEM pieces professionally painted in Guards Red. I am only getting rid of them because I don't like how the look with my new seat inserts (not shown below).

There's a lot of replicated option lists and window stickers out there. That area being painted is an Exclusive Options so may not show on some. On the original window sticker it would be in the section titled "Exclusive Options" and it would be listed as "Seat Belt Passage Ext Color".
Have you ran your VIN through VINanalytics - it would be option code CMT.

While I am guessing you are much more mechanically inclined than I am, I also swapped out my factory white inserts for black. I would caution you to be very careful, those little plastic tabs that hold them together were very stubborn, and at the time I came across others who broke the tabs in the process and had to buy new. Maybe someone has some helpful tips to insure they come apart intact. I was lucky and able to remove and replace with damage. Good luck!

I remember looking at the factory replacement parts for these and I believe they were fairly inexpensive. Just a thought, might be cheap enough to just replace and not worry about painting black.

Oh thanks. That’s good to know. That would allow me to keep the red ones in case a future buyer wanted them.
