What’s the asking price? I’d say $80-85k given the fact that it doesn’t have GT2’s.

When I was shopping recently I wasn’t even considering a Spyder if it didn’t have the buckets. I’m not sure how the market views it but it’s probably a $5-10k hit. Similar as PDK car vs manual. I view PSE as being more critical to have than Sport Chrono.

PSE can be added by a Porsche dealer. It's totally stock looking and performing including the control panel. No different than if it had been ordered from the factory that way except the option isn't listed on the window sticker. I got mine done for about $3500.
I don't think Sport Chrono can be added after the fact, at least at a sensible price.
I was guessing high $60,000 range but given the sharp rise in prices lately I could easily be off $10k or more.
If it's much higher than this I would be asking myself what other car I could buy that is approaching six figures.

I'm going to guess somewhere in the high 60,000 range given no buckets or chrono and 17,000 miles.
The bubble we are in makes it tough to value.

Low mileage R like yours, I would say $75k+ even without buckets or Chrono in today's market. GLWS.

I think a sales price would likely be in the $70s. Plenty of dealers would price that car in the $80s. Maybe it would sell, maybe it wouldn't, but I think a realistic price to start with and a small amount of negotiation room is probably better.
Regarding buckets, for those of us that are taller (or those that like to sit lower in their seat), they're actually a downside, but yes, many will still want them so you will get a lower offer due to no buckets. While buckets are now NLA, I believe, you can still get them for around $10k if the buyer likes everything else about the car. Ceramics would be more costly and challenging to add after.
I buy cars on condition first, then options, so providing it's in great condition, I think a buyer will likely pay up.
Side note - I also find it funny how some models do better without chrono, others do better with. In the 997 GT3 world, many don't want chrono for the cleaner look and all it adds is the clock. For the Cayman R, as mentioned, you can easily get the software and get the benefits without the clock.

Those prices sound crazy to me. I have a Peridot R with buckets/6sp. Had PSE and sports chrono installed by local P dealer. Paid way less than what you guys are talking about from obsessive owner in 2017.
Has anyone actually seen an $80K transaction, or just saw some car advertised for that?

You bought yours near the bottom. Add $15-20k more to what you paid for the same car today. If you do not believe me, go to Bring a Trailer and search Cayman R's for comps. It's ridiculous (said by someone who just bought their own CR and wished they were looking for this car two years ago!). There haven't been any recent Cayman R's on the bidding websites, so it's hard to say if the CR's on the market going for $80k+ asking price. But I strongly believe a low mileage, 6MT with buckets will fetch $80k or more. It appears the market has forgotten the early critiques from magazines/reviewers about the R not being "next level" enough compared to the S. Instead, I think people are seeing the R as the last special, truly analog Pcar drivers car at a relatively affordable price range which is driving up the price, especially as manufactures continue to move to more technology packed and electric vehicles. This is my .02.
With my own car, a manual CR popped up in my email from CarGurus. I called the seller within an hour or two of the posting and was told a sale was already pending. Luckily for me, that buyer dropped out and the seller was nice enough to reach out to me since I was "next in line". I purchased the car and was told by the seller that there was a line of potential buyers if I did not pick the car up. This market is HOT.

Interesting, I'm certainly not looking to sell mine. I looked at the online platforms this morning and see one listed at over 100K. Really do wonder, at that price you can get a lot of other cars.
When I was looking, a buckets six speed in a good color was in the 40s or 50s. Of course the mileage was always pretty good, mine was about 25K which made sense for a second car Porsche.
I think my car stickered at about 68K, it's wild that 10 years later they seem to be going at over list.

An $87k MSRP car in 2011 is about $106k today after inflation.

I share the view of many that quantitative easing may be one of the causes, I don't view economics as solely responsible.
There is a culture of collecting (think baseball cards in the 80s/90s) that has infected all walks of life.
