These cars are like hens teeth in my area and I always have to drive at least 2 hours (one way) to test another car. Sounds like I wouldn't like a 997.2 cab as much as my current car.
Oh man, what a gorgeous ride!

I can confirm that the 997 feels "big" compared to any 987, especially the Spyder. With a tune and headers, this 3.4L should easily make 365hp, considering the base tune for the 997 puts out 345. That is plenty fast for this weight. The 997 is a sweet car, but the Spyder is probably the pinnacle of tactile feel and true sportscar intentions from Porsche.

Wow so not only is PSE heavier but it also reduces engine power, that is big kick in the pants considering how much more it costs and is labeled “sport”.

As A432 noted, it would be good to have another Spyder tested to see if the results are the same.

Outstanding work, Sawborg. Amazing to see this. How many of us jump in our Spyders and hit Sport Mode and open the PSE? Probably most.

Suggestion: Re-post your Dyno data in a new thread so as to mark it properly for future searches etc... I think it warrants it!

Traded the stock PSE with a valved FabSpeed TrackTec exhaust with another RL member a few months back. It bolted right up and the valves still work with the factory PSE button.

With the valves closed, it sounds like the factory PSE is enabled. With the valves open, it sounds close to a race car esp. with the pops and crackles on deceleration. Carving canyons with the valves open is just heaven.

Last planned mods are the IPD intake plenum/GT3 throttle body and maybe a set of 19” lightweight silver or gunmetal wheels.

Thought about getting headers with 200 cell cats but I don’t want to deal with the CA smog headache.
