Hah I had the exact same thought right after I placed my order. But I’ll likely keep my current ones on the car for driving and only use the new ones for concours since they’re easy to remove/install. I have a spare set of mats for the same purpose, strictly for concours use.

Not a chance that came from your car. If it was torx maybe, but that looks like a standard building electrical device ground screw to me.

More parts orders to test the supply. I was going to order the side vent covers until I saw the price. They are double the cost of the fronts.

Any news on your order? As far as I know none of my Spyder-specific parts have yet arrived at the seller.

Edit: My order for the DRL covers has been fulfilled and will be sent to me today.

What would be interesting to know is how much stock is held. If the parts have a manufacture date say pre 2012 then we are likely buying from a limited pool and it’s wise to put away spares as they eventually become unobtainable new.

Last I heard my order was shipping today 12/3 and thus far I haven’t heard anything different. I do agree that we are likely ordering from a limited pool of original parts Porsche will run out. Having said that, with the recent Porsche Classic effort here in the US I do think they will continue to make new parts as needed although who knows if they will retain the original finishes. Plastic formulas change as do paint composition so parts like the silver trim may not be a perfect match. For me the Spyder is a long term keeper so I will continue to order the trim pieces that wear out to insure I can keep it looking new.

I’ll post when I get my parts.

2nd in Concours Light at the Annual Club Light Concours. The winner had his car done at a detailing company but that wasn’t the difference. My left fender has a ripple. Likely from someone manhandling the lining. Easy to fix.

Congrats John! Not a bad result at all for the first time out. Other than the fender did the judges note anything else?

Also an FYI, the LED Trim pieces arrived today.

Congrats! I would not call it a bad result. At all. And on top with the pleasure of having done everything by yourself.

Thanks. That was the main thing. The 993 owner that won was on his third attempt. The judge said the standard was high with the top three cars, but I can do better. All new bumper parts next year!

BTW any date stamp on that part?

In the UK points are added for age and mileage. I have won concours event with my 944 but the Spyder would have to be flawless and i like driving it too much well done bonding with yours. As they say , “ blondes get dirty quicker “

What ripple? Your car looks spotless.

Nice event. Loved the four 996 gt3s across the road from you, 3x 6.1 and 1x 6.2.

It was a GT3 celebration of 20 years. Here are some other pics of cars there.

Concours lite here will award the win to an older car if it’s a draw on points but is otherwise relatively even e.g. I didn’t get marked down for not having the ‘Boxster’ in Boxster Spyder on the rear lid.

I will likely do this again next year for the win but it will get driven in the meantime. I didn’t buy it to just look at but it is the C4 doing the track tour next year. Just changing out the suspension on that. It needs to settle!
