Lightest wheels

I didn't think my digital scale would work at such low weights, but it does...so to answer my own question:
BBS Sport Classics are 21.6 lbs
Carrera twists are 23.0 lbs
and the Boxster S twists are listed at 22.9 lbs
So there you have it!

Used clean wheels with no extra paint on them and a high-end digital scale. Hopefully helpful.
Added studs in there just to stretch your brain although I'd be careful on the seizing. That's a "per" weight so that adds up if you're looking to reduce unsprung weight.

Wheels have to be as delivered from the factory, right? Meaning I assume we can't lighten the twists down to 18.5/20 by machining away a bit of material in the middle of each fat spoke.

I wouldn't do that even if it was allowed. These are wheels designed for street cars. Making them weaker to use them for much larger racing loads (and risks) would make no sense at all.

You're right, for 99.5% if folks it's a bad idea, and even then a CNC machine and some balancing equipment might be required to do it right. I suppose my curiosity had more to do with my day job as a stress analyst than as a car builder. Thinking on how to really do it, even if it were legal it wouldn't be worth the effort to do it properly. Ah well it sounded fun in my head!
