Default Wanted: 2.5 engine for spec boxster

I am looking for either a rebuilt or a low mile boxster 2.5 engine for my spec boxster build. Please let me know what you have or if you know of anyone with one available. Thanks

Id like to have it before the end of December. Budget will depend on the condition of the motor and if it is a fresh rebuild or not. Feel free to contact me privately to discuss what you had in mind. Thanks,

I ended up spending more $$ than planned and went for a freshly rebuilt motor someone had pretty local to me. I figured I will run into less issues going this route and the motor should last a lot more races.

There are still a few used engines for sale on ebay in the $3-5k range that I had my eye on with pretty low miles if anyone is looking.

What would be considered "low miles" worthy of dropping in a SPB?

I doubt there is a magic number on what mileage is "worthy", but maybe some others with more SPB experience want to chime in.. I do know it is hard to tell the history of a junkyard motor and how well it was maintained for its life. These used motors are over 15 years old after all. I'm sure some higher mileage ones out there could be in better shape than a low mileage example.

Keep in mind, with a used motor you should also be doing some sort of IMS upgrade, and deep oil pan and/or accusump system which are additional costs.

Below are a couple used ones I found on ebay
